Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the manufacturing cost and power consumption of an ink mist recovery device by eliminating the necessity for an additional drive fan by driving a fan for recovering ink mist with a revolving body which rotates being contacted with a carrier shaft for the scanning movement of a carriage. CONSTITUTION:The device is constituted so that a roller 17 is installed to become integral with a carriage 11 and also to be brought to contact with a carrier shaft 12 and a fan 19 is rotated by the rotation of the roller 17 through a one-way clutch 18. Consequently, the fan 19 rotates to forcibly recover ink mist into a gutter 21 only when the carriage is running for printing and it does not rotate at the time of nonprinting, while the carriage is being returned, and by this system it is possible to send ink mist to below the gutter 21.
