Abstract

PURPOSE: To efficiently suppress dissolution of heavy metals from heavy metal- contng. dust, by adding an aqueous solution, in which one or more active sulfur compounds such as sodium sulfide or sodium polysulfide are dissolved, to the dust, blending the mixture, and then caking the mixture by addition of a hydraulic setting agent and agitation.
CONSTITUTION: Heavy metal-contng. dust, e.g. collected dust from an incinerator, is cut out from a hopper 1 by a gauge 11 and introduced into a mixer 3. On the other hand, an aqueous solution, in which one or more active sulfur compounds such as sodium sulfide or sodium polysulfide are dissolved, is weighed by a gauge 12 and fed to the mixer 3. In the mixer 3, these components are sufficiently blended and then fed to another mixer 5. In the mixer 5, a hydraulic setting agent weighed by a gauge 14 is added from a hopper 4, while water is added from a pipe line 7 through a gauge 17 and mixed. The mixture is fed to a forming machine 6, where a desired amount of water is measured by a flow meter 18 and added through a pipe line 8, and formed into a product 9.
