PURPOSE:To amplify output signals from an MM type cartridge and an MC type cartridge adequately by a single amplification part by using the 1st and 2nd switches and an equalizer element. CONSTITUTION:To amplify the output of an MM type cartridge, the 1st switch 14 is opened, and the movable piece 19 of the 2nd switch 15 is so set that the 2nd contact 17 and the 3rd contact 18 meet together. The 2nd input terminal 7 is grounded and the extent of feedback to an amplification part 10 is determined by a filter 1 and the 1st resistance 12. Therefore, the output signal of the MM type cartridge applied to the 1st input terminal 6 is amplified normally. When an MC type cartridge is used, the 1st switch 14 is closed and the movable piece 19 of the 2nd switch 15 is so set that the 1st contact 16 and the 3rd contact 17 meet together.
