Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce unnecessary noise and make radar images clear by adjusting the linearity of an amplifier to one and above or one and below corresponding to the state of receiving. CONSTITUTION:If linked switches SW1 and SW2 are opened corresponding to the state of receiving, the amplification degree of a linear amplifier 2 is controlled by a resistor R1 and a series variable resistor R2, and becomes smaller than that when the switches SW1 and SW2 are closed, and the amplification degree of a linear amplifier 6 decreases. On the other hand, the linearity of an amplifier 4 becomes larger than one when its input level is on or lower than a prescribed level and becomes smaller than one when on or higher than the prescibed level. Therefore, video signals, having passed the amplifiers 2 and 4, detected by a detector 5 and amplified by the amplifier 6 are processed, corresponding to the linked operation of the switches SW1 and SW2, in the linearity range of one and below of the amplifier 4 when the noise of clatters, etc., is lower than the radar signals, and when the noise is higher than the radar signals, the peak output owing to the noise is processed in the linearity range of one and below, thus S/N is improved substantially and radar images become clear.
