PURPOSE:To obtain the consecutive focusing control signals of a video camera, by setting a photoelectric transducer at a position having an optically equal distance to the image pickup surface to vibrate it and then leading the photoelectric conversion outputs at both ends of the vibration to a peak holding circuit to compare them with each other. CONSTITUTION:An image of a subject is formed on an image pickup surface 2a of an image pickup tube 2 via a lens group 1. In this case, the reflected light branched by a half mirror 3 provided in front of the surface 2a is led to a photoelectric transducer 4, and the transducer 4 is vibrated by the output of a square wave generating circuit 6.
