Abstract

PURPOSE: To raise the combustion efficiency of coal, by granulating fuel coal so as to have a small distribution range of grain diameters, and preventing pulverization of the same by use of binder.
CONSTITUTION: Residual coal obtained after coal washing process is shaped into granular form by adjusting the calorific value with addition of fine particles of refined coal 2 and feeding muddy substance kneaded with binder 3 into a direct heated type rotary granulating drier 4 having therein an agitating means. The granulated and dried product is carried to a screening means 6. Substances having grain diameters smaller than 1mm, obtained after classification by the above screening process, are carried back directly to the kneading machine 4, while substances having grain diameters larger than 3mm are carried back to the kneading machine 4 after being crushed in a crusher 7. Thus, only the granulated and dried product having grain diameters of 1W3mm is carried to a fluidized incinerator 8 for combustion therein.
