Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a polyolefin compsn. which is not difficult to pelletize and has a high flame retardance effect imparted, by blending magnesium hydroxide and an aliph. bromine-contg. compd. having triazine ring with a polyolefin. CONSTITUTION:50-200pts.wt. Magnesium hydroxide and 2-40wt% (based on the amount of magnesium hydroxide) aliph. bromine-contg. compd. having a triazine ring, are blended with 100pts.wt. polyolefin. As said polyolefin, a polyolefin composed mainly of polypropylene is particularly preferred. An example of said aliph. bromine-contg. compd. having a triazine ring is tris(dibromopropyl)isocyanurate. A compd. having a bromine content of 55% or higher is particularly preferred. When 10-100wt% (based on the amount of the bromine-contg. compd.) antimony trioxide is blended with the above compsn., a higher flame retardance effect can be obtd.
