Abstract
PURPOSE: Title compound that is prepared by adding a specific metal hydroxide and iron powders to a vinyl chloride resin, thus having good flame retardancy and giving molded products evolving extremely reduced smoke on burning and keeping substantially the original shapes.
CONSTITUTION: (A) 100 parts by wt of a vinyl chloride resin is blended with (B) 5W200 parts of at least one selected from the group of consisting of metal oxides having particle sizes below 300 microns and 1 stomospheric pressure of equilibrium vapor pressure on the dehydration decomposition at 150W600°C such as calcium hydroxide and cystallization water-containing organic compounds having 1 atomospheric pressure of the dissociation equiribrium vapor pressure at 150W600°C such as zinc borate, (C) 0.05W20 parts of a metal powder selected from Fe, Mo, Sn, and Bi or a powdery inorganic metal compound in an amount equivalent to 0.05W20 parts of the above metal powder, and (D) 0W200 parts of inorganic fibers as glass fibers or metal fibers and they are kneaded uniformly by the use of a kneader and molded by usual methods.
