Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain high-purity ethyl acetate economically, useful for film production, etc., standing the standard of color test of sulfuric acid and polyurethane yellowing test, by subjecting ethyl acetate containing a very small amount of impurity with a catalyst to contact reaction, followed by low-boiling separating distillation.

After that, the reaction product is subjected to low-boiling separating distillation, to give ethyl acetate having a purity of ≥99.99% with no above-mentioned impurity economically not requiring large-scale change of device and the use of expensive chemicals, catalyst, etc., not causing the occurrence of waste water and the loss of purification through distillation.
