Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the necessary time as well as obtain an excellent vavuum impregnating effect, by a method whrerin after an object to be impregnated has been submerged in an impregnating solution, the solution chamber is closed up, and vacuum deaeration is carried out, then the vacuum is broken.
CONSTITUTION: After a given amount of an impregnating solution has been placed in a vaccum impregnating chamber, an object to be impregnated is submerged under the surface of the solution. Then, the solution chamber is closed up, and vacuum evacuation is carried out in order to vacuum-deaerate the air contained in the air gaps in the surface of said object. Thereafter, the vacuum is broken, and a pressure is applied to the surface of the solution in order to vacuum-impregnate the impregnating solution into the air gaps of said object. Specially, when an epoxy solution is to be used, the solution chamber is maintained at a low temperature at all times, and the object to be impregnated is heated to dry at a given temperature before being impregnated. Thereby, the time needed for heating the solution is reduced, and the pot life is readily prolonged. Accordingly, with a new solution supplied, the vacuum impregnating operation can be repeated over a long period of time.
