Abstract

PURPOSE: To achieve uniform soldering in manufacturing a corrugated fin type heat exchanger having corrugated fins arranged slantwise, by effecting soldering after roughening the surface of the portions along the straight runs of a flat heat transfer tube where it is held in contact with the fins.
CONSTITUTION: After roughening the surface of a flat heat transfer tube 3, tilted corrugated fins 2 are inserted between adjacent two straight runs of the heat transfer tube 3. With subsequent application of compression load, corrugated fins 2 and heat transfer tube 3 are coupled together tightly to each other without causing slippage between them since the surface of the tube 3 is rendered rough. By soldering the fins 2 and tube 3 in this state, uniform soldering can be achieved with ease.
