Abstract

PURPOSE:To simplify a circuit and to prevent the occurrence of beat, by eliminating the lower side band of a luminance signal in frequency modulation out of video signals to be recorded by a required value and giving it to an erase rotating head through amplification. CONSTITUTION:A high pass filter 3 which eliminates the lower side components by a required value is connected to an output terminal of a frequency modulation circuit which receives a video input signal and frequency-modulates the luminance signal. An output amplifier 4 which sufficiently amplifies the output signal of the filter 3 to a erasable level of the video tape is connected to the output terminal of the filter 3. The output terminal of the amplifier 4 is connected to an erase rotating head 6 via a rotary transformer 5 to constitute a video tape eraser 1. The chroma signal in the video signal is frequency-modulated at a frequency conversion circuit 7, mixed with an output of a frequency modulation circuit 2 at a mixing circuit 8 and applied to a recording playback head 11 via a recording amplifier 9 and a rotary transformer 10.
