Abstract

PURPOSE:To study through extracting and display information, stored in a storage device, at random, by providing a random-number generating circuit which generates a random number through pushing a retrieval key when no character is inputted by depressing a character key. CONSTITUTION:With a character key K1 pressed, a character code is stored in an input storage part 1B and converted into a character pattern, which is display on an output part OUT through a CPU. With a retrieval key K3 pressed, the CPU, receiving a retrieval command singal from a gate G1, increases the count value of an address counter AC to read out the storage contents of a fixed storage device ROM1, and they are compared with the character code of the IB to display the retrieval result on the OUT. To clear the display of the result, an F1 is reset by depressing a processing key K2. In this state, when the retrievel key K3 is pushed, a random number generated by a random-number generating circuit RAN with the logic ''1'' output of a gate G2 is applied to an AC, thus displaying information in a storage address, which corresponds to the random number, i.e., an English word on the OUT.
