Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent abnormal rise of the pressure in a pipe when piping is closed by installing a diaphragm having the equal stroke to a driving body on the facing relief head and utilizing the reciprocating movement of the diaphragm and the driving body.
CONSTITUTION: The relief diaphragm 12 havig the same shape and dimension to a driving diaphragm 2 and havng the equal displacement amount per stroke to the driving diaphragm 12 is interposed between a pump head 7 and a relief valve 6. When closing state is formed on the discharge side because of clogging of a pipe, and the discharge pressure rises abnormally, and the pressure in the pipe of the pump overcomes the set pressure (spring force) of the spring 10 on the relief valve side 6, and liquid pushes the relief diaphragm 12, liquid is transported right and left in a transverse pipe 13 by the reciprocating movement having the coincident amount of displacement per stroke of the relief diaphragm 12 and the driving diaphragm 2, and as a result of this, the abnormal pressure in the pipe of the pump can be absorbed and softened.
