Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:The N-[1-Triazol-(1)-yl-2,2,2-trichloroethyl]-substituted benzamide derivative of formulaI(R1 and R2 are H, Cl, Br, CH3, or OCH3).
EXAMPLE: N-[1-(1,2,4-Triazol-l-yl)-2,2,2-trichloroethyl]-2,6-dichlorobenzamide.
USE: Agricultural and horticultural fungicide exhibiting excellent fungicidal effect specifically to the powdery mildew of crops, vegetables, fruit trees, flowers, etc. It has strong penetrative activity and controls the blight directly and penetratively. It is safe to man, animals and fish.
PROCESS: The compound of formulaIis prepared, as shown in the reaction formula, by reacting the N-(1,2,2,2-tetrachloroethyl)-substituted benzamide of formula II with 1,2,4-triazole in an organic solvent such as benzene, in the presence of triethy-lamine.
