Abstract

CONSTITUTION:A charging corotron 10a is set opposite to a recording matter 2, and a metallic plate 15 containing an earthed end is provided inside the corotron 10a to form a charger. Then the surface opposite to the corotron 10a is electrically charged to the same polarity as a toner 13 of a developer. As a result, no electric insulation is required for a developing device 5, and furthermore an electric field which is necessary for the prescribed development can be formed just by using the corotron 10a and not using any bias power supply. Thus a so-called back fog can be completely eliminated.
