Abstract
PURPOSE:To stabilize the quality of image by using a high resistance magnetic toner having >=10<13>OMEGAcm resistance value and having 5-15muQ/g gaseous discharge charge quantity under a 10<4>V/cm electric field. CONSTITUTION:A developing device 6 consists of a developing sleeve 7 which can be rotated and driven counterclockwise, a mangnetic roll 8 which can be rotated and driven counterclockwise in the sleeve 7, and an ear height regulating plate 8. An AC developing bias power source 10 is connected via a variable resistannce 11 to the sleeve 7. With such constitution, the image quality during developing by the high magnetic resistance toner is stabilized by using the high resistance magnetic toner having >=10<13>OMEGAcm resistance value and having 5-15muQ/g gaseous discharge charge quantity in a 10<4>V/cm electric field.
