Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve wear-resisting performance of a vane used in a rotary fluid pump, by applying a coating layer of a material having a high hardness in a groove formed in the top sliding face of the vane.
CONSTITUTION: A coating layer 32 of a material having a high hardness is applied in a groove formed in the top end face 31 of a vane 3 over the entire length thereof excluding the opposite end portions 33, 33 of the same. Such a vane has an extremely high wear-resisting performance, and at the same time, can be protected against collapsing at end portions of the coating layer applied at the top sliding face of the vane. As the material for the coating layer 32, it is preferable to use a non-conductive material having a high hardness such as ceramics and cermet.
