Abstract
PURPOSE:To machine a hole and obtain its high out of roundness, by sloping a wire electrode at a prescribed angle for a work, relatively shifting the electrode and the work to a prescribed distance, and then rotating the work, thus performing electric discharge machining during rotary motion of the work. CONSTITUTION:A work 1 is rotatably held by a drive roller 8 and driven rollers 9, 10 then rotated by a pulse motor 7. A wire electrode 2 can be sloped to a prescribed angle by deflecting an upper electrode guide 4 through a micrometer head 5 to a prescribed amount. While performing electric discharge machining, a table 3 is moved to a prescribed distance in accordance with the radius of a machined hole, and then the work 1 is rotatively driven by the pulse motor 7, thus the hole can be machined to prescribed conical shape. In this way, a hole of high out of roundness can be machined substantially by one axis control.
