Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an optical information recording disk which is large in strength and convenient to carry, by use of a thin substrate, by forming a holding frame on the circumferential margin of an optical information recording carrier obtained by forming a metallic film on a substrate, and installing a protective member at intervals with the metallic film inside. CONSTITUTION:A metallic film 2 is vapor-deposited on a glass substrate 1 which is thinner than usual, and an inside circumference holding frame 10 is fitted into a center hole. Also, to the circumferential margin of the substrate 1, an outside circumference holding frame 11 is installed, projecting parts 10a, 11a of both the holding frames 10, 11 are made spacers, a protective plate 13 made of plastic, etc. so as to be opposed to said frames, with the metallic film 2 inside, and inert gas such as gaseous nitrogen, etc. is put into a space 12 which is sealed up tightly. When recording in this optical information recording plate, a laser beam 6 is condensed through the glass substrate 1 onto the metallic film 2 through an optical system 7 and a lens 8. In this way, it is possible to obtain an optical information recording disk which is large in strength and convenient to carry, by use of a thin substrate.
