Abstract

PURPOSE: To contrive a labor saving for a ship by a method wherein a voice fed to a microphone is converted into a signal, the signal is processed by a computer and a rudder is operated.
CONSTITUTION: When a steering order in the form of a voice is given to the microphone 1, a voice recognition device 2 compares the input voice signal to a command pattern which is previously imputted, then it recognizes one of several kinds of command patterns and inputs the recognized signal into the computer 3. Simultaneously, a voice according to the recognized signal is outputted via a speaker 4 to make the recognition results confirmed by the person who has given an ordered steering angle. Based on the recognized signal inputted, the computer 3 feeds a rudder turning angle signal into a steering stand 5, a steering wheel 6 is turned at the stand 5, and a rudder turning signal is fed into a steering gear 7 so that the steering gear 7 operates to turn a rudder 8. The rudder angle is detected by a rudder angle generator 9, and the completion of the rubber turning operation is announced by the speaker 4 through the computer 3 and the voice recognition device 2.
