Abstract

PURPOSE: A tissue culture callus for a plant in Euphorbia and Eucalyptus is cultured under light irradiation to produce a plant tissue culture callus high in environment adaptability, vigorous in growth and high in sterol production capability.
CONSTITUTION: When a plant tissue of Euphorbia tirucalli, Euphorbia millii or other Euphorbia, or of Eucalyptus globulus, Eucalyptus pulverulenta or other Eucalyptus is cultured, at least one selected from male essence, yeast essence, casein hydrolyzate and coconut milk is added to the culture medium and the cultivation is conducted at a constant temperature between 20 and 35°C, preferably between 25 and 30°C, further under light irradiation of 100W10,000lux, preferably 100W3,000 lux for at least one passage in the induction cultivation phase or growth cultivation phase, preferably in the induction cultivation phase.
