Abstract

PURPOSE:To fully exert engine capacity by detecting combustion pressure so as to seek engine torque and by controlling ignition timing, ejection volume, EGR, and transmission ratio so as to produce optimum torque. CONSTITUTION:The output of a pressure sensor 5 installed to each combustion chamber 4 is synchronized to the signal of a crank angle generator 8 through a signal generator and A/D converter 7 and enters a microcomputer 9. The microcomputer 9 obtains an area SA by a pressure increase due to explosion, computes engine torque T, compares T to torque T' of optimum torque map and controls ignition timing, fuel injection volume and EGR volume. The cmputer 9 compares this torque T to transmission point torque for an electronical automatic transmission unit and changes the speed of revolution at the optimum point. The volume of injection is feed-back controlled at T-T' by a two dimensional map when the engine is subject to cold temperature and by an air to fuel ratio sensor when the engine is warming up.
