Abstract
PURPOSE:To easily measure a clouding point and a pour point in a short time, by sampling a sample to be measured in a transparent test tube and inserting the test tube into the plural units of thermostat set up at different temperatures successively. CONSTITUTION:Cooled liquid cooled in a low temperature thermostat 6 preliminarily is passed each unit of the thermostat 3a, 3b, ... successively through an inflow tube 7 and temperature in each unit of the thermostat is made so as to be a prescribed temperature gradient by controlling an opening degree of a regulation valve 10 by a temperature controller 12. After that, a sample tube 14 sampled the sample is transferred in the unit of the thermostat from the side of high temperature to that of low temperature successively at every prescribed time and a clouding point is determined by the temperature recognized the deposition of paraffin. Separately, the tube 14 is made in an opened state for a time in each unit of the thermostat by operating a pinch cock 17 and movement of the sample by a minute stress of the atomsphere is observed and then, a pour point is determined as +alpha by the temperature in no fluctuation. Hereby, measurement is performed accurately with a small amount of sample.
