Abstract

PURPOSE: To sustain the sealing effectiveness of a sealing surface over a long term even in case of a sealing surface made of light alloy by putting a sealant prepared by coating a mixture of a corrosion inhibitor such as hexamethylenetetramine with a sticking agent such as milk casein on the sealing surface.
CONSTITUTION: One or more among dicyclohexylammonium nitrite, mercaptobenzothiazole, benzotriazole, mercaptobenzimidazole, diisopropylammonium nitrite, urea and sodium nitrite are used as the corrosion inhibitor besides said hexamethylenetetramine. Gum arabic, PVA or polyvinyl butyral is used as the sticking agent besides said milk casein. When the opposite material of a flange is carbon steel or stainless steel, sodium nitrite is combined with hexamethylenetetramine, and when the opposite material is copper, benzotriazole is combined with mercaptobenzimidazole.
