PURPOSE: To obtain wear-resistaant cast iron for a cylinder block with superior castability and workability by adding a specified amount of C,Si,Mn,P,S,V and Sb to cast iron as a base.
CONSTITUTION: The cast iron such as FC25 cast iron as a base are added, by wt., 3.2W3.7% C, l.8W2.2% Si, 0.2W0.7% Mn, <0.15% P, 0,1W0.3% V and 0.01W0.035% Sb. The resulting cast iron is easily cast and worded into a cylinder block, and the cylinder block for a diesel engine or the like can be cast unitedly without using a cylinder liner. The core part has very supeior wear and heat check risistances.
