Abstract
PURPOSE: To facilitate the continuous operation of material-feed and concentrated matter-recovery, in the disposal of sewage or the like, by providing a concentrating rotary cylinder with a passage for feeding suspension to be disposed and a passage for discharging an effluent collected at the side of a rotary shaft.
CONSTITUTION: A rotary cylinder 1 is provided with a partition wall 3 which divides a treating space S inside the cylinder 1 into a concentrating space S1 and a concentrated matter-discharging space S2. The partition wall 3 is provided with a passage R which carries the concentrated matter from the space S1 into the space S2. The open end of a passage R3 for recovery of the concentrated matter in the space S1 is constructed in a manner such that its position can be freely changed along the radial direction of the rotary cylinder 1. Consequently, an effluent and the concentrated matter can be recovered continuously, even when the suspension is continuously fed. Besides, the recovery amount of the concentrated matter can be controlled because the position of the open end of the passage R3 can be changed along the radial direction of the cylinder 1. As a result, the concentrated matter can be recovered while maintaining its concentration at a desired level, even when the concentration of solid content in the suspension is varied.
