Abstract

PURPOSE:To securely guide the front end of paper regardless of the change in the size of paper, by providing movable side guide plates on a tray for housing the paper, on one side of which copying, is already finished, and by providing the guide plates with paper guide members for holding down the front ends of both the side edges of the paper. CONSTITUTION:Paper 18, on one side of whch copying is finished along a photosensitive drum, is conveyed from a conveying roller 17 to a tray 16 in which the paper 18 is temporarily stored. The tray 16 is provided with side guide plates 19, 20 for guiding both the side edges of the paper 18. On guide plate 20 is mounted movably relative to the tray 16 so that the position of the guide plate 20 is automatically shifted depending on the size of the paper 18. The side guide plates 19, 20 are fitted with paper guide members made of thin elastic plates, to hold down both the side edges of the front end of the incoming paper 18. The sheets of paper 18 on the tray 16 are sent out one by one through the cooperation of a conveying roller 22 with a separating roller 23 so that copying is effected on the other side.
