Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the response characteristic of pulses, by improving the sensibility as compared to conventional ultrasonic probe to extend the frequency band characteristic. CONSTITUTION:The frequency to determine the thickness of an acoustic matching layer 4 is set to an approximately middle frequency fm[fm=(fr+fa)/2]between a resonance frequency fr of a piezoelectric vibrator 1 and an antiresonance frequency fa, and the thickness had dimensions of the 1/4 wavelenfth of this set frequency.
