Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve ease of use and accuracy of measurement by a device wherein a conduit pipe is provided at its part with a transparent tube and a photo-detector is rotated along a circle concentric with the transparent tube so as to record the relationship between a rotation angle and output of the detector.
CONSTITUTION: A transparent glass tube 12 is air-tightly connected to a part of a beam conduit pipe 12 through which neutral particles pass while being accelerated. As a motor 21 is driven, an outer race 15 of a bearing 13 is rotated via gears 20, 19, so that a tubular member 17 housing a photo-detector 18 therein is turned via a support member 16. Output from the photo-detector 18 which receives a light emitted from a beam of the neutral particles is fed to a Y input of an XY recorder, while output from a potentiometer 22 rotating together with the motor 21 is fed to an X terminal of the XY recorder. An amount of axial shift of the beam is calculated on the basis of a change in recorded values. By so doing, it becomes possible to improve ease of use and accuracy of measurement.
