Abstract
PURPOSE: To purify a compound containing both amino and sulfonic groups in high yield in high purity without requiring complicated operations and using an alcohol, by treating the compound with a sulfonic group-containing ion exchanger and an ion exchanger containing primaryWtertiary amines.
CONSTITUTION: A solution containing a compound shown by the formula (X is O, S, etc.) is treated with both a sulfonic group-containing ion exchanger (e.g., sulfonated polystyrene-divinylbenzene resin, etc.) and an ion exchanger (e.g., weakly basic ion exchanger resin on the market) containing oneWthree of a primary, secondary, and tertiary amines, to purify the compound containing both amino and sulfonic groups shown by the formula. When an anion coexisting with the compound shown by the formulaIis especially sulfate ion, the compound is treated with a cation exchange resin, and with a compound of alkali earth metal (especially Cu, Ba, etc.), to give the desired high-quality substance.
