Abstract

PURPOSE: To precisely output enough damping force and to improve the operation and the safety of a brake by activating oil pressure and the spring force of an accumulator in the same operation as a brake in common use to apply the brake when the oil pressure of an oil pressure system is reduced.
CONSTITUTION: When an oil pressure system is appropriate, the pressure oil from a pump P activates a booster 2 after a pedal 15 is stepped on to activate a brake 1. When the pump is stopped on account of troubles, the stagnated pressure oil in the oil pressure system is maintained in the condition of the pressure applied by a piston 33 with the reaction force of a spring 34 in an accumulator 3. Then, stepping on the pedal 15 allows the accumulated pressure oil of the accumulator 3 to be pushed out by the piston 33 and transmitted to the booster 2. This causes the booster 2 to operate and the brake 1 is activated by the boosted force and the reaction force of the spring 34 being acted on a lever 12. When, also, the oil pressure system stops functioning and so on by piping failure, the brake 1 is automatically operated only with the reaction force of the spring 34 because the accumulated pressure oil of the accumulator 3 flows out.
