Abstract

PURPOSE:To make high speed copying possible by scanning and illuminating the light from a fixed spot light source in the longitudinal direction of a slit region by means of a rotated galvanomirror, and controlling the rotating speed in such a way that the scanning speed decreases in the peripheral part. CONSTITUTION:The light from a fixed spot light source 1a is made incident to a galvanomirror 2a, by which it is reflected. The reflected light is made into approximately parallel light by a parabolic mirror 3a, and this light is reflected by a scanning mirror 4a to illuminate a part of the slit area of an original surface 5. As the galvanomirror 2a rotates, the longitudinal direction of the slit region 6 of the original surface 5 is successively scanned and illuminated. Here, the mirror 3a has refracting power in the longitudinal direction of the region 6 as well. The speed of the galvanomirror 2a is so controlled that the scanning speeds is made lower in the peripheral part than in the central part in the longitudinal direction of the region 6, whereby illuminances are made uniform and the high speed copying is made possible.
