PURPOSE:To prevent the temperature of a strip from lowering so as to regulate the temperature favorably, by providing a heat insulating cover that surrounds the strip during the period it is pulled out from an annealing furnace until the time it is introduced into the succeeding annealing furnace, and capable of being moved into and out of the line. CONSTITUTION:The heat insulating covers 5 are installed for facilities for annealing the strip 1, the facilities comprising a plurality of the shaft type continuous annealing furnaces 2 arranged in series. Each heat insulating cover 5 surrounds the strip 1 that has been pulled out from the furnace 2 and will be introduced into the following furnace 2, and can be moved into and out of the line in such a manner that it is traveled on rails 8 using wheels 7 provided to the ends of upper partition walls 3. Consequently, the strip 1 that has been guided by guide rollers 6 to be pulled out of the furnace and will be introduced into the following furnace 2 can be prevented from lowering of the temperature, and therefore the temperature can be desirably regulated.
