PURPOSE:To stabilize the action of the inverter circuit by discontinueing the generation of a saw-toothed wave during the time when back electromotive force is generated at the primary winding of a transformer for conversion when a transistor of the inverter circuit is interrupted. CONSTITUTION:The second primary winding 10 and the second transistor TrQ2, a base and an emitter thereof are each connected at both ends of the winding 10 and a collector and the emitter thereof are connected in parallel with a saw-toothed wave generating circuit 1, are mounted to the transformer 4 for conversion. When the storage time of tht TrQ1 is prolonged, back electromotive force is generated at the winding 10 when the TrQ1 is at off, and the TrQ2 is at off. Zero voltage is given a to base current generating circuit 2 in place of the saw-toothed waves during the time when the TrQ2 is at off, the time when there is back electromotive force. Accordingly, base currents IB are not generated during that period, and the TrQ1 is kept under an off condition.
