Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain an optical functioning device of light weight, small size and high reliability by arraying respective optical parts on one sheet of substrate by means of thick films or thin films. CONSTITUTION:The exit light from a light emitting element 7 provided on a substrate 12 is converted to parallel rays of a suitable beam diameter by an objective lens 8 and a collimator lens 9 on a thick film or thin plate. These parallel rays enter an acoustooptic element 10 of a thick film or thin film shape at the angle satisfying Bragg conditions. The exit light from the element 10 is diffracted at the angle approximately proportional to the driving frequency of elastic waves. The intensity of the diffracted light is approximately proportional to the powers of elastic waves and this diffracted light is condensed onto the CCD array 6 or the like provided on the substrate by a Fourier transform lens 11 of a thick film or thin film shape. Since in this way the optical functioning device is constituted of thick film or thin film optical integrated circuits, the device is made light in weight, small in size and high in reliability.
