Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a heat treating furnace which permits easy carry-in and out of tubular bodies by providing a furnace chamber consisting of a tubular support part provided with plural rollers turning the tubular body around its axial center on a moving carriage and a cover body and the like on a tubular support part provided with heating burners. CONSTITUTION:A cover body 3 is hoisted up to an imaginary line and a tubular body 8 is placed on reversely revolving rollers 9a, 8b, after which the body 3 is put on a tubular body support part 1. Next, the burners 10, 11 in a furnace chamber 6 are ignited, and at the same time, the body 8 is turned in the arrow A direction by turning of a driving roller 7a and is heated up to prescribed temps. Upon lapse of a prescribed time, the firing intensity of the burners 10, 11 is weakened, and the body 8 is held at prescribed low temps., after which the burners 10, 11 are stopped and cooling air is flowed in pipes 14a, 14b to cool the body 8 slowly. After the completion of the heat treatment of the body 8, the body 3 is hoisted, and the body 8 is delivered out by a suitable means, after which the body 3 is put on the part 1. According to this method, the elliptical deformation of the tubular body is prevented, and the tubular body is heat-treated at the efficiency higher than that in conventional batch type furnaces.
