Abstract

PURPOSE:To rapidly and smoothly cut-finish the welded fillet of a petroleum tank or the like to a good state, by providing a sliding mechanism for finely adjusting the protruded position of a cutter, on a truck. CONSTITUTION:A bead cutting machine 5 is installed movably along a welded bead 8 and includes a vehicle body 9 which is provided with a running motor 11 and functions as a truck. A sliding mechanism for reciprocating support plates 17, 18 and a bead cutting section 13 is provided on the central part of the vehicle body 9. A cutter and drive mechanism 14 includes a milling cutter 21 removably secured on a chuck 19. The cutter 21 is moved alont the bead 8 to cut it as an arc with regard to its cross section. According to this constitution, the welded bead 8 on the inside of bottom plate of a petroleum tank is rapidly and smoothly cut-finished well.
