Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the damage of a sealing member in a mounting device for a solid state laser rod by providing a light shielding glass at each of both ends of the rod, and providing a light shielding projection at a holder, thereby preventing the direct emission of laser light to the sealing member. CONSTITUTION:A connector 3B is formed at the inner wall of one end of the first holder 3, and a light shielding projection 3C is formed in the interior. Then, an annular light shielding glass 16 is mounted via a solder glass 15 to each of both ends of a solid state laser rod 1. In this case, the outer diameter of the glass 16 is formed larger than the inner diameter of the light shielding projection 3C provided at the inner wall of the first holder 3, and a gap 17 is formed. Then, the laser light reflected on a mirror disposed oppositely to both ends of the rod 1 is shielded by the projection 3C and the glass 16, does not reach the sealing member 5 interposed between the first holder 3 and the second holder 4, and the sealing member 5 is not thus damaged by the laser light.
