Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the deterioration of picture quality by obtaininig excellent tracking by detecting the shift of a playback head from a recording track automatically, and by holding the scanning track of the playback head and the recording track in parallel at all times. CONSTITUTION:An RF signal obtained by the playback head of a VTR8 is supplied to sample holding circuits 10 and 11 through a detecting circuit 9. The sample holding circuit 10 and 11 sample some section in one field of the RF signal by the same head alternately by receiving sample pulses S1 and S2 from a sample pulse generating circuit 15, and their outputs are compared mutually by a comparing circuit 12. On receiving the output S5 of the comparing circuit 12 and a signal from a sample pulse generating circuit 15, the control circuit 13 performs arithmetic processing to send a control signal to a step voltage generating circuit 14. An applied voltage E is sent from the circuit 14 to a head driving element. Consequently, excellent tracking is achieved and the deterioration of picture quality is reduced.
