Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent liquid from leaking and introduce a sample quickly into a column by pushing the sample into the column in the same direction as suction or injection of highly pressed carrier liquid. CONSTITUTION:A switch valve 31 is connected as the solid line, and a plunger 4p of a microsyringe 4 is pulled in the direction of an arrow (f). Then carrier 9' is sucked into the microsyringe 4, and a certain amount of sample 2 is introduced into a sample-loop 5. When the valve 31 is connected as the dotted lne, carrier 9 pushes a sample 2 upwards to a column 8. Carrier 9 flows into a sealing chamber 14, but sample 2 does not. So when a seal 13 is worn out, only carrier leaks out, and the valuable sample is saved. Also tailing and broad peaks of chromatograms can be avoided because there is no diffusion of samples in the sealing room.
