PURPOSE:To obtain the titled carrier causing no exfoliation of a coating layer owing to high adhesion and having a long life by adding styreneacrylic resin and cellulose ester resin so as to form the coating layer of core particles. CONSTITUTION:Styrene-acrylic resin such as styrene-(meth)acrylic ester copolymer preferably having about 5,000-500,000 average mol.wt. and cellulose ester resin such as cellulose acetate resin are dissolved in an org. solvent, and the surfaces of core particles such as iron powder or glass beads having about 30-1000mum particle size are coated with the soln. and dried by heating to form coating layers having about 0.1-20mum thickness. Thus, a carrier is obtd. This carrier is suitable especially for use as a carrier for a two-component developer for a magnetic brush method, a cascade method, etc.
