Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve a responce speed without reducing the width of an up-going lead electrode and without increasing a resistance value by forming a conductor part to be an intermediate lead electrode in order to relay the lead of an electrode for display to the reflection plate in an electrochromism (EC) display cell. CONSTITUTION:On the upper substrate 31 of an EC display cell, up-going electrodes 36, 36a are formed and on the electrodes 36, 36a display segments 37, 37a are formed. An intermediate lead electrode 34 to connect these lead electrodes 36, 36a to a segment connecting electrode 46 is provided on the reflection plate 34 and connected to them through electrically conductive materials 43, 44. Thus, the irregularity in display density due to a great number of up-going lead electrodes among digits such as in display of time 47 and minute 48, their narrow widths and high resistances are all prevented.
