Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate influence of fluctuation in the output of an AC generator which is rotated in synchronism with an internal combustion engine, by performing control on the closing angle by shaping the output of the AC generator into square waves, and applying F/V or F/I conversion to the frequency information of the square waves. CONSTITUTION:The AC output of an AC generator 1 rotated in sunchronism with an engine is applied to a one-shot generating circuit 6 and an OR circuit 11 after shaping the waveform in a square-wave shaping circuit 5. Output of the circuit 6 is applied to an F/V conversion and lamp-wave generating circuit 7, and the lampwave output of the circuit 7 is in turn applied to a closing-angle determining circuit 8. Further, an OR circuit 11 makes OR of the outputs of these two circuits 5 and 8 and drives a final-stage transistor 2 via transistors 13, 15 depending on the OR output, thus interrupting primary current passed to an ignition coil 3. With such an arrangement, control on the closing angle is accomplished by detecting the time period Tc from starting supply of primary current to the time the current becomes constant by means of a detecting circuit 9, and applying the output of the circuit 9 to the closing-angle determining circuit 8.
