Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce an electric power load on a copying machine by simplifying sorter control functions by enabling a sorter to be connected in common to several kind of copying machines by turning on and off the power source of the sorter under the control of a copying machine and by providing a power source dedicated to the sorter. CONSTITUTION:A sorter 10 which stores copy sheets supplied from a copying machine 1 in a prescribed storage bin and compounds or sorts them successively is connected to the copying machine 1. Then, the copying machine 1 and sorter 10 are provided with CPUs 80 and 101 having mutually independent control judging functions and the inputs and outputs of those CPUs are connected mutually via buses; and the control signal of a relay RA1 turning on and off the power source of the CPU101 is supplied from the copying machine 1 and a power source cord 72 which supplies the whole electric power of the sorter 10 is provided independently to the sorter 10.
