PURPOSE:To realize a highly reliable operation of an automatic chemical analyzer with a simple constitution, by actuating the washing mechanism of a light absorbing part or the sample measuring mechanism under the prescribed conditions and accordingly realizing an automatic washing of the light absorbing part as well as an automatic production of a calibration curve. CONSTITUTION:The effective time of calibration curve plus plural washing start times are given to a CPU9 from an operation display part 8 through a controller 7. Thus the CPU9 sends successively the time obtained by adding the stored previous production time of calibration curve to the effective time of the calibration curve plus the plural washing start times to a comparing part 11. At the part 11, each supplied time is compared with the present time of a time measuring part 12. Then the coincidence or dissidence signal is transferred to the CPU9 from the part 11. Thus CPU9 performs the input analysis of the operated button based on the data of a switch input storage part to carry out the prescribed washing as well as the production of the calibration curve.
