Abstract
PURPOSE:To easily manufacture a low pressure discharge lamp by sealing an electrode in one opening end of a U-shaped internal tube, protruding a lead wire, connecting this lead wire to a lead wire which is penetrated and sealed in the bottom stem, welding the bottom steam and a cylinder, and forming an outer cylinder. CONSTITUTION:A mount 5 with an electrode 4 on which an electron emissive material is applied is burner-sealed in one opening end 3 of a U-shaped internal tube 1 in which a phosphor 2 is applied to its inner wall and sintered. In this case, a lead wire 6 which is guided to the electrode 4 is protruded to the reverse side for the electrode 4. A lead wire 8 which is provided on the lead wire 6 of the U- shaped tube 1 in which the mount 5 is mounted is connected and fixed by caulking or point welding. Then inorganic insulating material is applied to the exposed sections of the lead wire 6 and 8 and a cylindrical outer tube 11 is sealed the button stem 7. Besides, air is discharged and gas is sealed by means of a discharge tube 9.
