Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce heat loss and to improve a dehydrating effect, by pressurizing a slurry of raw green blown coal, elevating the temperature of the slurry with a heat exchanger, and then reducing stepwise the pressure to repeat flash evaporation prior to a hydrogenation-liquefaction reaction.
CONSTITUTION: Raw green brown coal and a solvent are thoroughly kneaded 24 to produce a slurry 1 which is then pressure-fed to condensation-heating tubes 15 within a third evaporating chamber 12 by means of a pump 2 to exchange heat for stream, whereby the raw slurry is preheated. The preheated raw slurry is heated by exchanging heat for a high-temperature solvent recovered from a coal-liquefying reactor 23. The slurry is introduced into a first evaporating chamber 12 where the slurry is subjected to flash evaporation. The dehydrated slurry is discharged in succession to evaporating chambers 12, 13 whose pressure is lowered in turn by means of each contriction between evaporating chambers, whereby flash evaporation is repeated. The resulting slurry is supplied from the third evaporating chamber 12 to the 23 by a pump 22. Steam generated in each of the evaporating chambers 12, 13, 14 is condensed on the outer surface of each of condensers 15, 16, 17 cooled by repeating reflashing and re-condensing through space contriction in turn, and withdrawn as condensate from a water collector 21.
