Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce resistance during cruising and improve acceleration by installing accelerator plate close to the splash plate which is above curing plane sailing.
CONSTITUTION: An accelerator plate 2 is installed by sliding it from the front side of upper casing 1, setting it at the foot of concave 23 and screwing tightly to the casing 1 with bolts 7, 8. When the motorboat is at rest the accelerator plate 2 is under water. During acceleration, the accelerator plate is still under water, however, the propulsive effeciency is improved with a lift P acting to reduce component F1 of the propulsive force F. During plane sailing, the accelration plate is above water imposing no resistance.
