Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve functional reliability of the captioned booster by modifying the structure around the input column, and preventing adverse effect on the seating condition between the valve seat and the poppet valve of built-in control valve mechanism due to shaking of the input column.
CONSTITUTION: The space within front and rear shells 1, 2 of the negative pressure type booster is divided into a permanently negative pressure chamber 6 and a variable pressure chamber 7 by means of a booster piston 4. An input column 22 which is connected to the above piston 4 is also connected t a control valve mechanism B. The booster power is provided through a power column 17 due to the pressure difference between chambers 6 generated at the time when the input column moves forward. Here, the top end 22a of the input column 22 is formed spherical so that it can slide and float along the inner wall of an insert hole 23 of the piston 4, and this top end 22a is slidingly attached to No.1 valve seat 29 of the control valve mechanism B. Thus, adverse effect to shaking input column 22 on the sealing condition of No.1 valve seat 29a and a poppet valve 31 is avoided.
